ABOUT
We are a community, a group of people who are dedicated to creating a social community where our members know they will always have fun and our support. We are friends and friends of friends – people too countless to name, who have helped us put Mombasa-Long Beach Sister Cities Association together. We are Kenyans, Americans and friends of Kenya coming from all parts of the world and residing in Long Beach and neighboring communities, who believe in our dream of forming an international bridge linking the business, cultural, social and educational worlds of two special cities. We are people like you – our members, who by participating, and sometimes hosting events themselves, make our community what it is.
MISSION
Promoting better understanding and relations between the peoples of Mombasa, Kenya, and Long Beach, the United States of America; increasing, promoting, fostering friendship, raising the public knowledge level and understanding of the East African culture and history in the Long Beach community; performing activities which are charitable, educational and not for profit, in accordance with the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954; supporting and maintaining ties with sister organizations, Long Beach civic and trade organizations, California State University Long Beach and City College, Long Beach port and airport, local museums; supporting and maintaining ties with Long Beach African American Chamber of Commerce (LBAACC) and Long Beach African American Heritage Society.
